02Why the Civic

Hybrid with attitude.

The Civic is the compact that never rose up to look like an SUV: 1,408 mm tall, a long bonnet and a low centre of gravity. Beneath it, the 184 hp e:HEV system takes it from 0 to 100 in 7.8 seconds and uses 4.7 litres. Two things that do not normally appear on the same spec sheet.

184 hp and 4.7 litres, in the same car

The electric motor delivers 184 hp and 315 Nm from the first revolution, so acceleration arrives immediately, without waiting for a gearchange. The petrol engine mostly acts as a generator, which explains how a car that reaches 100 in 7.8 seconds uses 4.2 litres out of town.

The dashboard that kept its buttons

The ventilation mesh runs across the whole dashboard and hides the air vents, while the climate control has physical buttons with detents you can feel. The 9-inch screen is left for maps and music, not for the temperature in the car.

An eight-speaker audio system, from the entry trim

The Elegance trim comes with eight speakers, DAB, two USB ports in the front and two more in the back, plus wireless phone charging. It is not an options list: it is included in the starting price.

The eco-voucher is worth 12,000 lei for hybrid vehicles and 15,000 lei for plug-in hybrids, as set out in the funding guide published by the Environment Fund Administration (AFM). The euro equivalent is estimated at a commercial rate of €1 = 5.217 lei.
The eco-voucher depends on the applicant's eligibility and on the funds left in the scheme. The benefits shown are maximum values, applicable to eligible versions.
