Built for drivers.

The Mazda3 is the compact that refused to become ordinary. The same car comes in two body styles with two different characters: the hatchback with its wide C-pillar and coupé silhouette, the saloon with a 450-litre boot and the proportions of a car from the class above.

Two body styles, one starting price

The hatchback is 4,460 mm long with 354 litres of luggage space. The saloon, the one in the picture, is 4,660 mm with 450 litres. Both start from the same trim level and the same list price: you choose the shape, not the budget.

An engine in no hurry to impress you

2.5 litres, naturally aspirated, 140 hp and 238 Nm from 3,300 rpm. No turbo, no aggressive downsizing — acceleration builds in proportion to your right foot, and consumption stays at 5.8 l/100 km in the combined cycle.

The dashboard is built around the driver

The 10-inch centre display sits high, close to your line of sight, while speed and traffic signs are projected onto the windscreen by the head-up display. You never take your eyes off the road to find out what limit you are in.
